The Child Life program helps to reduce children’s fear and create a positive healing experience for pediatric and adolescent patients. Child Life Specialists address the emotional needs of hospitalized children and adolescents to help them understand and cope with their hospital experience.

Child Life Specialists provide a healing and positive experience for the patients by encouraging children to participate in normal play activities during their hospital visit. They also use medical dolls and equipment to teach children about their illness and prepare them for upcoming procedures. In addition, the specialists provide support and comfort to the families of the patients.

How can you help?

Our child life therapists promote a healing and positive environment. They ensure that our patient’s feel comfortable and secure by providing them with toys, procedure prizes, yummy snacks and more. The child life specialists use books, craft supplies, video games and more to help the child during their stay at the hospital.
