PATIENT AND FAMILY ASSISTANCE

In addition, to Child Life specialists, our social work department provides support for parents and guardians during the hospitalization of a child.  The social work department assists with families needs during their stay to help alleviate stress.

The Patient and Family Assistance program helps those patients who may not have the resources necessary to be able to fulfill all of their medical expenses.  Social workers area able to give out meal vouchers and gas cards to assist those families.  In addition, social workers give child safety equipment, such as car seats to new born infants to ensure that the infant is safe on the ride home.  This program allows us to make our services available to everyone in the community and assist families incurring those “extra” expenses that come with having a child hospitalized.

How can you help?

You can help by donating gas gift cards, hotel lodging, baby clothes, restaurant gift cards, snack items and anything else that may assist the family during this stressful occasion.  Any support that these families receive during this difficult time is always greatly appreciated.
