NICU TELEHEALTH LOVE AND CARE

TLC is a free video service allowing parents and guardians to use a computer to see their babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital when parents or guardians cannot be at the hospital.

The parents only need a computer, webcam, internet service and an e-mail address to access the program. Parents will be provided with a Vidyo account. Vidyo is a Web-based videoconferencing system, similar to Skype. If parents do not have the equipment, they can still participate by going to their local library. The NICU staff will place the camera on the baby’s incubator for 30 minutes and the parent is able to see their baby.
